Kate purchased our Survey & Design service, and after a good chat and look around the Showroom, I had the initial brief:
The room itself is very large, and the bath/shower area need to be raised. I designed this area as a feature, putting a strip light underneath the step. The size of the room, called for a large format tiles, so I got in touch with our contact at PietraCasa who really helped Kate find the perfect tile.
The City Bronze finish is very unique, so Majestic was the choice for the shower enclosure as they have metal work to match this finish.
Over the next few months, I got a better idea of what was required for the basin area, so I contacted Bard & Blackwood and commissioned them to create the floating drawers. Our Stonemasons, Stoneworx, created a lovely floating stone top to complement the tiles.
I eventually convinced Kate, that the existing bath and WC would not fit with the new design. The chosen tiles were high gloss, and I felt that if we used Catalano for the WC and Victoria+Albert for the bath and basins, we could get all of these in a matte finish, to dampen down the bling! Kate loved this idea, so we forged ahead.
Almost 4 months after our initial meeting, countless meetings and redesigns, we had a finished design and were ready to go. The bathroom was a joy to work on – Kate decided to have the tiles mitred rather than using tile trims, although we did use a dark bronze trim on the step to accentuate the feature step. Every single part of this design and installation was painstakingly carried out to create the perfect ensuite.
