Working together with the clients on a range of proposed concepts, the final plan was created. Dividing the showering area and WC into two separate zones provided both privacy and a multi-functional space for the family. The central focus wall allowed a perfect point for the wall hung vanity unit with storage, while the bath was relocated to the opposite side of the room and posited on an angle, creating feature alcoves into the corner-built wall.

The bathroom needed to suit all family members while also offer a look of luxury. A large walk-in shower wet floor with height adjustable riser rail, large rainhead and bidet toilet served all family members requests while also being low maintenance.

The ceiling was 2.7m providing a great opportunity to drop down to 2.5m to create a feature lighting detail, adding to the luxury “hotel look”. All family members were tall and wished to retain as much head height as possible. I also proposed connect the feature lighting on a dimmable zone system to allow full lighting control over each space. The clients could then switch between multiple setting – warm/colour/ soft or intense / colour changing – true hotel luxury!

Selecting one large-format tile for the wall and floor, created a luxury look. The polished tile also reflected light round the room emphasising the beautiful grey marble and minimal grout lines. The matt bath finish also worked well as a contrast to the polished tile. All tiles were finished with a mitered edge join.

Upon presenting the design proposal to the clients, they were thrilled with the final concept as it meets all their requests. The job took 3 weeks to complete due to the vast building works, relocating pipe and mite tile finish.

Arranging a final visit to see the completed bathroom, the clients love the completed project and amazed by how similar the result compared to the 3D design visuals.

Project cost: £33,450.00
