Design goals

• Island with Seating: Design and incorporate an island with seating for two, providing a functional and inviting space for meal preparation and casual dining.
• Sink Placement: Position the sink in front of a window to maximize natural light and views, enhancing the kitchen's ambiance and functionality.
• Material Selection: Utilise a mix of materials to introduce texture and visual appeal to the kitchen design, ensuring a modern yet timeless aesthetic.
• Appliance Integration: Seamlessly integrate various appliances, including the oven, warming drawer, steam oven, large hob, quooker tap, large sink, large fridge, and large freezer, into the kitchen layout to optimize workflow and efficiency.

Challenges:

• Wall Step Modification: Address the step in the wall identified in the original floor plan by extending the wall to align with existing and to conceal its depth.
• Special Worktop Feature: Implement a unique feature in the worktop area to enhance functionality and visual interest, such as utilising hawa's sliding door mechanism to create a sliding dekton splashback with no visible track at the bottom, overcoming the challenge of handling a door weighing over 35kg.

Design Elements:

• Cabinet Doors: Utilise matt lacquered beige doors called 'canapa' to achieve a contemporary yet warm ambiance in the kitchen space.
• Worktops: Specify 12mm radium worktops by Dekton to provide durability, aesthetic appeal, and a sleek finish to the kitchen surfaces.

Conclusion:

The design brief outlines the vision for a modern kitchen space that seamlessly integrates functional elements, innovative solutions, and aesthetic considerations. 

By addressing the clients' requirements and incorporating unique design features, the resulting kitchen does not only meet their practical needs but also exceeded their expectations in terms of style and sophistication.
