I presented 3 distinct designs are the client was exploring various layouts the optimise the open space and meet their desire for maximising functionality as well as style. They were re configuring their new home to proof for the future with a downstairs bedroom and en-suite and large doorways.

Discussions revolved around the kitchens placement in their new open plan downstairs area to harmonise with their lifestyle needs. Their home was to be modern country style and I presented a handle less shaker style to give a traditional feel with a modern touch in their home. The kitchen needed to blend with their cosy living area and provide a location for their stunning oak dining table. By aligning the client’s vision and passion for interior design, I successfully delivered an amazing space that surpassed expectation. Much to my disappointment they wanted to keep their existing free standing fridge freezer and place on the end of the main run of units!

I needed to offer practical solutions for modern living whilst maintaining a modern classic aesthetic. The layout was thoughtfully planned ensuring efficient workflows and maximising usability of the space as a whole. Ample storage and various pull outs for easy access into cupboards and multiple large drawers – not just for symmetry but to allow for convenient storage. The inclusion of modern appliances and technology was a must – adding convenience and efficiency without compromising the aesthetic.

The choice of materials played a vital role in elevating this kitchen design, with flat painted Ash doors and a mottled porcelain work surface. The materials gave a sense of luxury and refinement but durability and longevity – ensuring that the kitchen remained timeless for years to come.

I made us of tongue and groove panelling throughout to add further texture to the flat painted style, open oak cabinetry at the end of the island to add depth to the area whilst using handle less channels with a shaker style door really gave this kitchen a country but modern feel.

I carefully chose the colour palette with neutral wall units and a soft khaki free island, creating a harmonious balance and sense of tranquillity that linked the house and its surroundings.

I couldn’t run away with budget with my client and had to prioritise accessible storage features alongside the right materials. I designed the layout to be not over complex with a bank of standalone units with sink against a blank wall with the island positioned so that the access to the dining area was clear. From every angle this kitchen looks beautiful, elegant and inviting.
