The space would be open plan with a good size kitchen area as well as dining and lounge space. Keen to have the latest tech in ovens available.
It was important for our client to have a unique design and when visiting her at her home we got a real feel for her style. We were excited to impress her which I’m glad to say we did.
We kept the pallet simple, using matt pebble grey with a walnut accent however to add a little extra detail we introduced some pebble doors with contour edge in bronze at the island. Again, working the bronze finish into taps and finishing details. We also introduced texture to the underside of the breakfast bar by using a concrete panel material which is enhanced by LED lighting. The worktop is in Dekton Neural, again a colour that ties in beautifully with the entire scheme. The client was opposed to this at first being so in love with natural marble however once we showed her the full slab and explained the benefits of a ceramic worktop she was on board. The worktop added texture and depth. The rear side of the island top and legs are mitred to give a deeper look at about 60mm thickness. Downturn on the side as you enter the kitchen shows off the continued worktop vein detail.
We had discussed the client’s storage needs and decided not to include any wall units, opting for a sleek linear design instead. Allowing for a deeper stone back panel therefore creating a lovely shelf detail. An area for the client to show off nice accessories. We have formed a bulkhead surround which allowed us to recess LED lighting above and below. These accent lights along with feature pendants helped us create independent lighting scenes for when the client and family are using different areas ie mood/accent lighting while dining or subtle hints of light when relaxing watching television.
The tall run of units is very functional, housing refrigeration and concealing a boiler and under floor heating manifold. The high spec Siemens ovens the client was keen to include. We have also introduced a worktop mounted bi-fold unit in walnut accent. This unit has integrated sockets and is ideal for toaster and coffee machine. When closed keeps the kitchen looking well organised and tidy.
We also brought in a flooring company to install a lovely light oak herringbone floor to complement the design for the entire space. The client ended up running the floor all the way through the lower level of their home.
